I visited SJM Dental College around 2019–2020. My travel estimate from Bangalore was about four hours, depending on the route and traffic.

It is a relatively small college, and I found the patient flow reasonable during that visit.

The college offers a BDS course of 5 years i.e. 4 years of BDS plus 1 year of mandatory rotatory internship. The candidates seeking admission to the BDS course are required to qualify for the NEET-UG Entrance Examination after passing the 10+2 board examination. The course curriculum comprises the following subjects:

1st Year – General Anatomy(including Embryology and Histology), General Human Physiology and Biochemistry, Dental Anatomy – Embryology and Oral Histology.

2nd Year – General Pathology and Microbiology, General and Dental Pharmacology, Dental Materials, Pre-Clinical Conservative Dentistry, Pre-Clinical Prosthodontics & Crown & Bridge.

3rd Year – General Medicine, General Surgery, Oral Pathology and Oral Microbiology.
4th Year – Oral Medicine and Radiology, Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, Periodontology, Prosthodontics and Crown and Bridge, Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Public Health Dentistry.

The MDS program is 3 years of academics. The candidates seeking admission to MDS are required to qualify for the NEET-MDS Entrance Examination.
